Our Story

Created by an entrepreneur and leader for entrepreneurs and leaders

Our journey began as Mowgli Foundation in 2008, founded by Tony Bury, a visionary serial entrepreneur-turned-philanthropist. Having experienced the invaluable impact of mentors during his own entrepreneurial ventures (with an impressive 19 start-ups under his belt), Tony Bury recognised the transformative power of mentoring.

Driven by a desire to address unemployment, economic challenges, security issues, and social inequalities in the Middle East, a region he called home for over 40 years, Tony explored ways to support entrepreneurs and leaders in achieving their fullest potential. His dream was to make effective mentoring accessible to every aspiring entrepreneur and leader, providing them with the guidance, challenge, and wisdom necessary for success.

Tony firmly believed that through mentoring, self-aware, confident, and skilled leaders would emerge, capable of growing businesses that thrived economically and catalysed meaningful social change. Thus, Mowgli Foundation was born, with its first programmes launched in Jordan, followed by Lebanon, Syria, and Palestine. This belief continues to drive our work at The Human Edge.

2008 2013 - present

Mowgli Foundation was founded as a UK registered charity.
2009 2008 - 2011

First mentoring programmes in Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, and Palestine.
2012 --

When we first started working with corporates and funders, such as DFID, Lafarge-Holcim and OCP Morocco, to strengthen their leadership internally and support entrepreneurs.

The Mowgli Mentoring years

2016

Awarded European Quality Award (EQA) “Foundation” Level accreditation from the EMCC for our programme syllabus.

Mowgli Foundation was renamed as Mowgli Mentoring.
2018 --

Mowgli Mentoring develops its online mentoring, coaching and learning programme capability.
2021 2013 - present

Awarded European Quality Award (EQA) "Practitioner" level accreditation for our programme syllabus enabling our ability to offer mentor accreditation services.
2022 e.

We began developing and expanding our range of off-the-shelf products to address specific needs in running effective mentoring programmes and enhancing mentor skills, ensuring tailored solutions for every stage of the mentoring journey.

Mowgli Mentoring becomes The Human Edge

2023 2013 - present

Mowgli Mentoring evolves into The Human Edge. Building on our mentoring and coaching expertise, we will be leveraging this foundation to broaden our scope to design and deliver wider and more integrated learning programmes and initiatives worldwide.
