To begin strengthening entrepreneurial businesses in Kenya, we recently partnered with Make-IT in Africa, a GIZ tech entrepreneurship initiative promoting digital innovation within East and West Africa to deliver a Mentoring Awareness Session (MAS), The sessions are aimed at creating more awareness on the definition and power of mentoring on a personal and professional level as well as its purpose and value within the ecosystem.
“Wherever I find an entrepreneur who’s been successful in any measure, I always find a mentor” Tony Bury. Founder, Mowgli Mentoring
The partnership saw Mowgli Facilitators deliver two tailored sessions targeting entrepreneurs and key ecosystem players (including funders, corporates and partners) respectively, taking them through a journey of exploration and learning as to what mentoring is all about, its importance and impact on both entrepreneurs and mentors, how it can strengthen an organisation’s existing CSR programs, and transform the lives of various beneficiary groups.
The interactive Mentoring Awareness Sessions were facilitated as part of our EMCC-accredited syllabus and saw the two groups explore the differences between mentoring, coaching, consulting and other similar practices, how mentoring can unlock individual potential to develop more resilient leaders who can achieve greater levels of personal and professional success as well as how they can pass on the gift of mentoring to empower and impact others.
