A foundational workshop that introduces mentors to the core principles of effective mentoring, including one key skill they can immediately practise and apply.
  • Duration: 2.5–3 hours (or two 1.5-hour sessions)

Mentoring Essentials for Mentees

A practical session that helps mentees understand their role and responsibilities in a mentoring relationship, while building the confidence and tools to take ownership of their growth in the mentoring experience.

Mentor-Mentee Familiarisation and Relationship Building

This essential session helps mentoring pairs get started and build the foundations of their relationship. It provides a supportive and structured space for them to connect, begin exploring expectations and set the stage for a strong mentoring journey.
  • Duration: 1–2 hours
  • Delivery Mode: Online or in-person
  • Capacity: 9–60 participants

Participants will:

  • Understand what mentoring is — and what it isn’t
  • Gain insights into the transformative impact mentoring can have on both mentor and mentee
  • Explore and practise active listening, a core mentoring skill
  • Acquire the tools to set clear agreements and expectations in mentoring relationships
  • Reflect on what makes an effective mentor and mentoring relationship
  • Gain clarity on their own strengths — and where they may want to upskill to mentor more effectively

Participants will:

  • Understand what mentoring is — and what it isn’t
  • Build confidence in taking ownership of their mentoring journey
  • Learn how to build rapport and trust with their mentor
  • Acquire the tools to set clear agreements and expectations in mentoring relationships
  • Reflect on what makes an effective mentee and mentoring relationship
  • Gain clarity on why they want to be mentored, their own strengths and where they may want to upskill to become an effective mentee

Participants will:

  • Meet and engage with their mentor or mentee in a supportive environment
  • Begin building rapport and discussing key elements of their mentoring agreement
  • Gain clarity on how to get started quickly, increasing the potential for a more productive relationship
