Richard Bellars
Facilitator
For 20 years, Richard has brought his devotion as a facilitator, mentor, coach and trainer to supporting leadership as a way of being and evolving.
In partnership with The Human Edge, he has designed, led, and co-facilitated leadership, mentoring, and transition-focused programmes across the UK, MENA, sub-Saharan Africa, and Europe. He is particularly proud of co-designing and co-delivering MAVA Foundation’s flagship, multi-national, legacy programme ‘Leaders for Nature Academy’. This was in his ‘sweet spot’ of working alongside individuals and peer groups to embrace regenerational thinking earthed in daily life, to think inclusively and intergenerationally, to be and act with heart-centered openness, to listen to and learn from others, and to serve by example rather than rank.
Richard’s previous career background includes business process re-engineering across functions and diverse industries from aerospace to pharmaceuticals, beverages to public sector (Diageo, Hewlett-Packard, Lufthansa…). Richard is a graduate (BA) in Modern Languages, a trustee for the London Sports Trust and on the Advisory Board to Restoration Power. He continues to volunteer as a mentor for entrepreneurs, NGO leaders and military veterans where and when he can.
Richard asks uncommon questions of those wishing to check their edges and ethics, helping them embody what’s authentic and needed to serve the health and prosperity of the organisations and wider ecosystems they lead. With a view through a systemic lens, integrating embodied practices and deep listening, his work is designed to help clients step back, expand awareness, and move forward with intention and attention.
Nature is Richard’s daily medicine and teacher, whether on his daily walks, or trekking, camping or ‘vanventures’, walking with clients, or simply being by the Jurassic Coast where he lives in West Dorset.
